Cody Call

Cody Call, PhD

Principal Investigator · Assistant Professor, Department of Biological Sciences · University of Notre Dame

Cody studies oligodendrocytes and the amazing cell biology underlying myelination. He completed his PhD with Dwight Bergles at Johns Hopkins University, where he mapped myelination patterns across cortical neuron types and showed that regeneration after demyelination reshapes those patterns rather than restoring them. As a postdoc with Kelly Monk at Oregon Health & Science University, he turned to zebrafish to watch myelin sheaths form in real time. He is starting the Call Lab at Notre Dame in July 2027.
